When Are Mangoes in Season?

Mango season at its peak runs from May through September, even though you can find them imported year-round. A large part of the world’s mangoes grows in India. They have a golden-orange color and are an excellent source of antioxidants and vitamins A and C.

A cup of mangoes contains 107 calories, 28 grams of carbohydrates, 3 grams of fiber, and contains over 20 vitamins and minerals. They also contain a compound called flavonoids, which can help control high blood pressure and reduce the risks of stroke and heart disease.

How Are Mangoes Transported?

How mangoes are transported depends on their origin. Our global shipping solutions company offers land, air, and sea transportation along with other great freight forwarding services.

During transportation, it is best that the mangoes are packed separately in clean containers. Individually packing them will help prevent bruising and damage. If you have boxes of mangoes, insect-proofing them by properly packing them will be the best way to handle this export.

How to Store Mangoes?

Ripe mangoes should be kept in the refrigerator. This will slow the ripening process and give you more time to enjoy them. Uncut, whole mangoes may be stored for up to five days once moved to the customer’s fridge. If the mango is cut or peeled, then it should be stored in an airtight container and can last a few days in the refrigerator. If the plan is to freeze the mango, then it can last up to six months.
